My beloved Sakura. What can I say that I haven't said before? She's been with me forever. I haven't been able to watch the anime for many years but recently I did and I was still got by her boundless kindness and gentle determination, even after all these years. I was very insistent the first time I saw the Cardcaptors dub that I wasn't interested - but here was a girl my age, getting to grow as a person and save the day without having to compromise who she was. She loves with her whole heart - there's not an ounce of conflict in her body. Representation of girls saving the day as they are is so important. She wins everybody over. It's okay if you don't understand everything about the world, so long as you do your best.
Mahou Shoujo is still my favourite manga genre. Without Sakura, I feel like a lot of my interests would have been wildly different, because she was the first one that was mine and not shared. The first female protagonist that was the blueprint for those to come. [Sakura / Cardcaptor Sakura]
